Dear humans,
The Apocalypse begins tomorrow. Possibly. The male’s phone has beeped, informing him the cell company will do everything in their power to keep their cell towers operational. We are not hopeful.
PGE has added more cities to the list since this morning.
For the curious, we live in California, and it’s wildfire season. PGE now cuts power to areas if conditions are potentially dangerous for the start of wildfires to prevent one from starting. as such, the humans are not upset the power may go out.
A few days of no power is far better than another Camp fire.
So, if you don’t hear from my tyrannical self, it’s because we have no electricity and we are pretending we are brave adventurers in the wild. In reality, the humans will be crying over their lack of internet. It’ll be a hoot.
Now, onto the word count stuffs.
The female has been sad. She has not done as much as she wanted. A cold hit, but it was brief. Then she was sad. Now she’s worried about electricity. (She has charged the power banks. She will survive for a while. Probably. If not, never fear. I’ll take care of her. Or eat her should she fail to feed us on time.)
On October 6, 2019, she wrote 37 whole words. She showed up for approximately two minutes before she ran away.
On October 7, 2019, she wrote 1,326 words. That was a little better than 37, but she’s not really happy with it.
Today, she has written 2,222 words so far. She’s going to write more. She also read through a chapter of Blood Bound. She is much happier about this.
Now, onto the announcement.
Double Trouble is already over 20,000 words and is nowhere near finished. It will be priced higher on release day, so if you want to pay $2.99 for it, you should preorder it. As soon as the book releases, the price will increase to either $3,99, $4.99, or $5.99. Basically, the length will determine the price.
We’re expecting $4.99, but if the book reaches 70k, it will be $5.99, and the editors may paint the hills with the female’s blood.
You can preorder Double Trouble at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Apple Books. Other vendors coming soonish. (Yes, we will have links to these vendors for $2.99 for preorder, but the book must be finished first. Price will all change on release day, and we’ll remind people about the price change closer to preorder.)
Note: this price is for US customers. Other sites are automatically priced by vendor’s conversion rates.
We’re sorry except we’re not very sorry at all. The female really likes the story, and she’s not at all unhappy it’s longer than expected. (It’s already over 20,000 words, and she is not at all angry she has gone over her estimated total for the book.)
For the record, if the book is 50k+ it will be marked at $4.99 and added as a main series book.
We are not yet sure if we will increase the price of Water Witch yet, but if Double Trouble gets too long, it will probably be increased by $1-2, as it wasn’t expected to really include a Mag Rom Com novel on top of the 100,000+ Witch & Wolf world / other world stories.
Happy Reading!

Good luck with the power issues. Better a temporary lack of electricity than another wild fire. Good reason to get solar power, too.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Sadly, the solar stuff is out, too, because they’re closing down the lines themselves, so unless you’re fully off the grid, you’re stuck if you’re in the zones. (And while my apartment complex has partial solar, we lose power if the main grids go down.) Solar is primarily used to lower electric bills rather than fully power places where I live. 🙁
So far, electricity is still on, though!

I dare say solar is a lot more complicated in an apartment setting. Good luck. Seven years ago, we lost power for 7 days after Superstorm Sandy blew all the wires down. Hubby and I were fine, but the kids had problems.

Thank you for the updates! When will Water Witch be available via Barnes and Noble and I Books? I haven’t been able to purchase from kindle (not sure why) ☹️
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Good question, one I don’t have the answer to right this moment. Expect a couple of weeks, as I’m having still debating my B&N problem. (Basically, I can’t upload as anything other than R.J. Blain to their system, but that won’t bring up RJ Blain as a term, so I have to figure out how to fix it. It’s annoying, and I need to do tests, so it’s hard for people to locate my books and my print books aren’t merging with my ebooks because of it, as I’m RJ Blain everywhere else. Go figure.
