Dear humans,
The female bought us a present. It’s a television stand with a fireplace built in, and when she flips the magical switch, it makes us warm! We like it very much. She also put our laser pointer toy on the Booze Shelf, and they keep turning it on for us! We’re having a great time.
P.S.: The humans are not raging alcoholics. They just collect fancy bottles of booze, and they sometimes drink them. The one with the pinkish-purple top is the female’s.
Next week, she gets a new desk and they’ll remove the futon, which is never used. The female is debating if she will hire a service to remove the futon or not. She may just hire someone because her back is sad.
Now, moving on to the stuff you readers probably want. Or, well, we hope we want.
Blood Bound releases on the 28th! The female has gotten it back from her primary editor, and the entire book is now with the proofreader. While this is a little closer on deadline than she likes, not all is lost! She’s already finished the next two books to be released, and the one after that is well on its way to completion.
Note: Blood Bound is a book one. There will definitely be a book two. When? Probably next year, but that is up for debate.
Now, for the big news!
The female has joined forces with Faith Hunter, Diana Pharaoh Francis, and Devon Monk for an anthology that will be releasing on January 12, 2021. It is called Dirty Deeds, and it will include a new Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) story. It involves a corgi and a house cat lycanthrope. Neither of these characters are the main characters, but they play a very important role.
About Dirty Deeds:
When the going gets tough, the tough get their hands dirty. Join NY Times Bestselling author Faith Hunter, USA Today Bestselling author R.J. Blain, and National Bestselling authors Diana Pharaoh Francis and Devon Monk on a wild romp where the damsels bring the distress and what can go wrong will go wrong.
Venture into a thrilling spinoff tale from the world of Jane Yellowrock, join vacationing gods in what appears to be a quiet, ordinary town, visit a supernatural hotel where the bedbugs could very well eat you, and dive into the zany, deadly world of the Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) series.
In this collection of all-new urban fantasy novellas and other stories, no job is too big or too small—if the price is right.
We are so excited about this, humans! We of the furred and frond management would really appreciate if you headed over to your favorite retailer and preordered. The collection is available at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Apple, and Kobo.
Shammed by Bernadette Franklin is now available as an audiobook! This is the female’s contemporary romance name, and it has many of the humor charms readers of the Mag Rom Com series enjoy. The shenanigans lack magic, and are more focused on the relationships and the society they live within, but it’s still a lot of fun. (If you’ve never read a contemporary romance, we totally think you should give it a try.)
Side-note: the female has changed some rules of certain places, like New York’s laws on exotic pets. She didn’t like them, so she adjusted them to her content. There is a note about what was changed in the back of the book.
About the Book:
At R.K. Legal & Associates, office hours are between ten to six, pranks happen after hours, and evidence of all shenanigans are removed before doors open to clients.
When Alice’s boss, Mr. Kenton, starts a prank war with Lance McCarthy, an up-and-coming attorney from a rival firm, she thinks it’s just business as usual.
She’s never been so wrong in her life.
Chosen to be Mr. Kenton’s accomplice, Alice must face off against Lance in what quickly becomes a winner-takes-all game of hearts.
Now, for some fun news from the trenches:
1: The editor told the female she must take a week to just goof off and write on Play Projects. Hooray! She’s going to be working on Murder Floof (Bernadette Franklin) because that story is a great deal of fun. She’ll also be doing a token amount of writing on The Run Around so she doesn’t fall behind. She may also work on some other stories, as she wants to keep ahead of the game for once in her life.
2: Grave Humor is being handwritten, and the female is having a delightful time with it. She had to rename some characters because she had started this one a while ago, and she can’t cope with having two amazing characters named Patrick. So Patrick from Grave Humor was renamed, however different the character is from the Patrick in the Royal States world.
Whoops.
3: The Royal States series is getting a full cover rebrand. If you like the appearance of the paperbacks, you will need to order your copies before May. They will be retired from sale when the rebranding happens.
The series really needs it. At the same time, the descriptions will likely undergo alteration as well.
You can check out the Susan Copperfield books here.
Side note: The new paperbacks will have a larger font for easier reading.
4: The female is working on a new edition of the Magical Romantic Comedy (with a body count) paperbacks. The old paperback version will be retired for a new trim size with a larger font. If you like the current size and appearance of the current covers, we recommend you order them now. The changes will be done depending on the female’s energy levels and the designers’ availability.
We will be using a mass market paperback size, and the larger font size will be better for everyone.
Expect this to be happen gradually, so consider this a three-week warning for the start of the changes.
Thank you for your understanding!
5: The female is getting a new desk! Possibly two new desks. The moving effort isn’t going well; it’s very hard to find a two bedroom in our area for below $4,000 in rent a month. And the male would rather save the $800+ per month at current and redo the furniture and setup of our apartment, because that’s $800+ a month we could spend on things like going on vacation.
The construction noise has been quiet for three whole days, one of the neighbors flee, and we wonder how many more will be fleeing.
According to the complex management, the construction in our building should be finished by the end of February.
We hope the female survives that long.
Last but not least, the female moved our crate, and we are not happy.

Enjoy that fireplace bookshelf. The weather is miserable right now I would dearly love to sucking the heat from it .
Anthology is per-ordered and sounds like a lot of fun.
