Dear humans,
Those who use facebook (and follow the page) already know the female Has Opinions on the USPS, it’s status as an essential service, and so on. The female has decided that she is taking action.
She bought stamps, and she will use these stamps to mail letters and cards to fans in June of 2020. In fact, she bought almost $400 in stamps for this purpose.
If everyone buys even a single roll of the $11 stamps from the USPS, We the People will succeed where our government has failed.
Many voters, the female included, rely on the USPS to vote. She relies on the USPS to send books to people. The giveaway books. The ones she buys, pays for, and ships for no reason other than she can.
The USPS charges her $3-10 for most media mail packages (which she uses for shipping books to winners.) The USP charges $30 for the same package. If the package is going to a rural address, it’s upwards of an extra $20 for the package.
She can afford $3-10 per package.
She cannot afford $30-50 for the same package.
That is how that story ends. Should the USPS fold, she will have to stop doing giveaways, as she is not a large business who can afford to spend $70+ a box (including the print costs of the books, etc) to do fun things. She likes doing fun things.
Since our government isn’t inclined to bail the USPS out in an attempt to suppress voters and make lives harder for those in the US, there’s no one else left to do it but us.
But how? How can Americans save the USPS?
Buy stamps.
That’s right. Stamps are cheap to produce, cheap for the USPS to send (and they charge you to ship. Smile and accept the shipping fees.) to anywhere in the US, and fund the service.
You can order your stamps here.
If you want to help but have no use for stamps, ask around and see if there’s anyone who can use them. (If you’re really stuck, you can send a sheet of stamps to the female. They will go to the card/letter pile. If you want to help with the cards and envelopes, she made a wishlist of what she will be sending.)
Please note she will just buy everything herself in a week or two, but without fail, someone asks how they can help, so she simplified the situation.
She will do a new batch of letters every 2 or so months until all of the stamps have been used. The first batch of letters will go out in June. If you have a friend or family member that likes the female’s books, make sure you add a comment that the gift/letter is a gift for a friend or family member and if there is a special occasion.
We’re sorry this took a somewhat political turn, but this is important. For all of us.
We of the Furred & Frond Management do not give a shit what your political orientation is. That’s like your sexual orientation.
It ain’t none of our fucking business.
But we all need the USPS.
While the female is very shy and reclusive, she loves and hoards all cards and letters she receives to her PO Box. If you want to write a letter and make use of a stamp, here is the address:
RJ Blain / Pen & Page Publishing
PO Box 2663
Cupertino, CA 95015
Please format it *exactly* like that on the envelope. It’s correct, and it will get to her PO Box.
Please don’t send perishables except for hot chocolate powder to that address. With COVID, the female is only going once every two weeks (which is the same as the holding time for letters and packages at the post office.)
Hot chocolate powder isn’t a perishable. It’s a nectar of the gods.
What? People keep saying I’m a mean kitty at times, and I’m being nice… for once.
She is currently banned from bringing in any more honey into the house until she eats some… but some, we mean like 5 jars. Minimum. She’s hissing at the male over her honey stash.
Note: she has already consumed one of the jars of honey. Four to go! She doesn’t find this tragedy all that tragic.
No pictures of our furry selves today. Instead, please enjoy this screenshot of the female’s receipt–and a sneak peek of a few of the stamps she’ll be sending out starting in June.
Thanks for putting up with this soap box today.

So I ordered one sheet of 20 and one sheet of 12 stamps plus a first day cover. I put your address in for the shipping so you should get them from USPS.
If you want to send me a letter or card my address is:
Love your books keep up the good work.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
I recorded your address, so you can expect something from us! <3

Someday after 5/13, you’ll get some Gardens of America stamps. But in trying (unsuccessfully) to have the stamps sent directly to you, I discovered that the right zip code is 95014. PO Box zip codes are usually different than the ones for street addresses.
Keep up the good work, and stay safe.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
I have corrected the PO Box! It’s zip code is 95015.
95014 is my home address’s code. Whoops. LOL
Kevin McIntire
The post office corrected the zip code for me.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Marvelous! I don’t feel quite as stupid then. Thank you post office. Hahahaaa… (I’m still in my corner crying lol)
Kevin McIntire
The cats are probably laughing at you then.

Yes. Last week I also wrote to my Senators about the situation with the Post Office.

I live in Australia, but I get what you are saying. It is my birthday in June & I would love a handwritten letter from you!
