Dear humans,
The female’s current status is tired, but she is doing her best. She is very much looking forward to when Wild Wolf is done and she can take a few days to just sleep. Or something like that. Probably sleep. She does like her sleep.
Onto the book faire, which as a reminder for those just tuning in, is a hearty thank you to authors who kindly shared the female’s books with their audience. (So, if you have a kindle unlimited membership, and you spot something you might enjoy, give a click to show them some love!)

“Dragons and unicorns and fairies, oh my!” At least I think that’s how the saying goes. I’m pretty confused about everything these days. I’ve grown up hearing how all these mythical beings thumbed their noses at this world and created Taku where they could have their Happily Ever After, but it’s all just make-believe. I mean, who really believes in Happily Ever After? After the way my childhood sweetheart treated me, I know I don’t. I’d sooner believe in dragons and unicorns. Then again, there is a certain Tall, Dark, and Handsome who may get me to change my mind. Combine that with these crazy dreams, and I’m either due for an appointment at the local loony bin or there’s more to Dad’s stories than I realize…
Our Thoughts: Humans, if you put everything the female would not want to happen in her life, and you put it in one picture, this would be it. 1: Snow. No. 2: Snow with broken castle, thus no heating. No. 3: Whatever the heck this type of shirt is called, with snow. No. 4: Ice on the ground to go with the snow. No.
Basically, there is snow, and the female has opinions about snow right now. These opinions equal ‘no.’ Just… no.
The female is interested in the shiny rock, though. She likes rocks… but watch it be an egg, and then the egg hatches. That would also be a no… (But anything that looks like an egg DOWN, we are still in 2020….!)
As for the book description goes… we have no idea what the plot might be on this one, but it might have dragons and unicorns? Dragons and unicorns are fun. But we don’t know what this is about beyond ‘probably snow, ew!’ and ‘dragons and unicorns’ are mentioned twice, so maybe there will be dragons and unicorns?

Coffee and my BFF are all the magic I need.
Things have gone wonky around me most of my life. I find an odd amount of dead or dying people, and if something freakish happens, I’m usually in the middle or nearby. My luck dumps me into the weirdest situations. Which means finding a body on the way to work isn’t exciting, just frustrating because I can’t afford to lose my job. College, when you aren’t a mage, is expensive.
My best friend Jo, is the only person I can depend on, and I fear I might lose her to magic too. But when the latest dead body has my name in his pocket, I find out I have more friends than I thought. I’m going to need them to graduate. But I will earn my certification no matter what I have to overcome.
Nothing is going to stop me. I will have a good life, I will be a great EMT, and I will keep looking for why my twin died. Life is a series of steps; this is step one. But with my luck, anything and everything might happen.
Our Thoughts: Is that more snow? Is this a snow conspiracy? Is this a hint the female should just get over winter and go find some snow and roll in it? Also, snow and tank tops… what is this? What is this?
The female, once upon a time, used to participate in snowball fights in shorts and bare feet. This is how one ends up suffering from hypothermia.
We like this model’s expression and hair. That could be rabid grease weasel hair, but tamed, possibly in treatment for rabies.
That said, Mel is good people. We like Mel. (Hi, Mel!)
The Coven Princess by Lily Luchesi (YA Urban Fantasy)

Note(s) from the Publisher: Contains mental health issues, bullying (antagonistic), and may trigger some readers.
Your blood does not define you.
Harley Torrance’s parents were killed in a home invasion when she was three. Adopted by a nice couple, Harley begins to develop strange powers. At fourteen she brews a potion so strong it gains the attention of the Coven King, and changes her world forever.
She’s not human, she’s a witch.
Now a part of the magical community, Harley must learn to control her powers lest the Darkness already in her blood overcomes her. Can she dampen her lust for power in order to stop the Dark from taking over the Coven and killing everyone in their way?
Our Thoughts: This one is for the witch lovers out there. It definitely has some tropes, so… go forth and enjoy.
(We don’t have a lot to say on this one beyond there is no snow, rejoice! Mainly because the female hasn’t read any witchy type books in forever and doesn’t remember if this type of storyline is typical. Whoops?)
The female is now going to go back to being tired. (Because winter is evil. Like snow.)

I have read the Twisted Luck series through book 3 and it was really enjoyable. I am hoping book 4 comes out soonish.
