After a close encounter of the hotspot kind, Nadine’s paws are full figuring out how to feed her thirsty vampire of a brother, trying to convince the CDC she actually can be a shapeshifter infected with the lycanthropy virus, and dodging the pack of crazy women out for her blood—or her brother’s body.
She’s not sure if they want her or her brother, but she doesn’t want to find out.
Nadine knows one thing for certain: her backwater town is too small for everybody coming to pay her family of two a visit. Maybe she doesn’t have a male platypus’s venomous spurs, but she’s ready to put up a fight to protect her brother, and not even the sexy plaid-clad stranger strutting his stuff is going to lure her away from home.
Assuming she’ll be given a choice in the matter is only the first of her mistakes.
Warning: this novel contains the mythical plaidypus and other deadly puns, romance, bodies, a minimum of two Canadians, and a mandatory magical adventure to Australia.
Proceed with caution.
Plaidypus can be read as a standalone.
Plaidypus releases on December 21, 2021, and can be preordered at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Apple Books!
We, the Furred & Frond Management, will be organizing efforts to try to get this book listed on USA Today for the female as a holiday gift! If you are interested in participating, the coordination for that effort will be taking place in the Fantasy Worlds of R.J. Blain readers’ group. However, if you can’t participate because you don’t use facebook, there are other ways you can help out. Preordering really helps. Fill out this form for the digital prize pack. Those who preorder or order on opening week or contact their local library closer to release time or just click the “I like checking off boxes” box will receive a digital present on the book’s release day. Everybody is welcome to do this. No strings attached. (No monetary value of the cute things sent to you via email!)
Note: while only USA sales on the various vendors ‘count’ for listing purposes, everyone is welcome to participate. For those participating in the Fantasy Worlds activities, international users may get smaller swag packs due to shipping fees, but we’ll try to make it fun for everybody!
Thank you for your support.
This is Nadine. She says hi.

Lynn
Pre order done, Nadine is cute, and are you doing another Pat & Jessica book? Didn’t see it on the list, but don’t stress yourself about it. I just wanted to know.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Yes, it’s called the Trickster King. No idea when it will be ready.
Valerie J Peterson
ordered and glad, but don’t work yourself sick. Good luck with the move.
snapdragon
Ordered. Really looking forward to getting to dive into this book.

OMG I can’t wait!!! The only reason I’m not pre-ordering is that the last time I tired to pre-order (Amazon fyi) everything was fine up till the release date when suddenly there was no record of me pre-ordering the book. Anywhere. It was weird. But I will grab it on release day!
Kim Kingston-Durgin
I have pre-ordered. The stuffed animal in the picture is so cute — where could I find one to purchase??
Valerie J Peterson
Noticed on Amazon the Alpha Paw Cat Ramp. Might suit for aging furry management.
Auzzie fan!
I love it! When I was in primary school I lived next door to the school and there was a small river across the road. When all the staff and students were gone for the day if we sat still and didn’t talk we would see a platypus come up for air and float around and dive and come back up again. I love that you chose this Australian animal!!! I can’t wait to read it!!

Just finished rereading Murder Mittens. I needed a good laugh to counteract this afternoons snow storm. Yes real snow. In mid April!
Thank you for brightening my day.

And I’m now on “Chip”. And if sneaky references in general SF to other authors works are Easter eggs, sneaky references in the Rom coms to other books in that universe are hereby christened fortune cookies. Yes I’ve just hit a particularly delicious one.
Thank you on behalf of Sariel and Agares.

~Gasp~ New book? New book! Yaaaay! Preorder done! I wish I had friends who read, I’d absolutely be giving them your books. Boooooo U.S. school system failing people by teaching reading badly and in a boring way!
Also, I’m using your new releases as rewards for myself. Like training a dog. -_-;
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
I use stuff like this to train myself, too. I’m not as cute as most dogs (or cats) though.
It works on cats, too!! Just… takes a little extra work hahaha
