Well, this was not the news I was expecting to be sharing.
In June, Doggone Mess’s price will be increased to $7.99. Right now, the book is just short of 80,000 words, and I still have two long and major arcs to work through, plus at least one transitional arc.
What does this mean: the book will exceed the general 80-120k spread I reserve for $6.99 titles.
As it was set to preorder for $6.99, I will keep that price until shortly before I leave to go to BABE in Australia in early June.
If you’re buying retail, you’ll have a chance to get it at the $6.99 rate.
This price adjustment will change nothing for Patreon users.
So, in good news… I have at least 60,000 words left of book to write! In bad news… I have at least 60,000 words of book left to write. (And if I could stop typing right instead of write, that would be amazing.)

I have the book on pre-order, but as you are one of the only two authors that are on my auto-buy list, I would still happily pay the increased price. 🙂

$7.99 is still a very affordable price, and it’s for countless hours of your labor and countless hours of my enjoyment as I reread books. I’m currently rereading the Royal States novels o\for the 5th or 6th time. The new price is fair, one I have no problem with you charging. In recent years the price of everything has gone up, dramatically in some cases. The price you will ask for this book is a small increase and I can understand the necessity. Thank you for the enjoyment your books bring me.

I have no complaints if you have to up the price. The stories that you write are more than worth every penny I pay! I stopped picking up an author because she was charging $6.99 for a story that was less than 200 pages. And they were not really well fleshed out stories. You make stories that make me want to read it again and again … and again…and again. Your stories are worth it!
