I forgot (due to family illness from the convention) to remove the first chapter of Murder Floof. I will be zapping both the first chapter of Murder Floof and the first chapter of The Trickster King on Wednesday (when the next scene of the Trickster King is uploaded.)
If you want in on the action, now is the time to subscribe to the monthly patreon in either the Cindercorn of the Spicy Ponies with Bite tiers.
Some updates to Patreon:
The Patreon store works well for book delivery, so I will be retiring the per novel Patreon. I recommend all of the per novel patreons subscribe to the free membership for the monthly patreon. Click the Join for Free button as shown below.
When I launch novels, immediately following delivery to the subscribers, I will put the Patreon version of the novel up for sale in the Patreon shop for retail price. I am paid substantially better via Patreon, so this is generally a win-win; you get the books a little early, and you get the ePub version with the bonus short stories and the Patreon notes that you can load into any ereader you want.
Some technical knowledge required. (You will have to be able to download the book on your device and use your send-to-kindle email address or otherwise sideload it into your device.)
Everything in the shop will be marked with how the money is used. Click See More/Learn More/Whatever they have it labeled as to completely read the descriptions and see where the money goes.
Generally, new novels will go 60/40 (Household/New Productions) unless it is in the Royal States series, in which case all funds go to the Royal States series.
Photography usually goes 100% to Royal States series, except for the ones cleared as “funding my camera hobby” because lenses are not cheap.
As time allows, I will be setting up retail-priced bundles so people can easily catch up on the series. (Old Bundles/Titles will follow the basic Patreon rules for payments; 60% to the Household, 20% to Royal States, 20% to Future book production.)
Please note that this is being done in my spare time, but I will update my “master list of Books” page with the Patreon Shop so it is easy to find.
View the Patreon shop as “direct sales” to me without the hassles of trying to do it myself on my website.
While I will drop the news announcement of new releases early to my Patreon, I will only be doing the standard release day post on my blog, so if you do want the Patreon version (which may have some warts because it’s a pre-release edition prepared a little ahead of retail), you’ll need to make use of the “join for free” button I showed you above.
And for my last bit of news, etc… I would really like to aim for the new USA Today list with Whiskers on Kittens, so if you can do me a solid and coerce a friend to preorder at either Amazon, Apple, Barnes & Noble, or Kobo, I would be hugely appreciative. (Nope, not asking anyone to double order, nor am I asking any of the Patreon users to do anything that they aren’t already doing.)
I am just expressing, in a rather plaintive whine, that I want it. And I want it because Whiskers on Kittens is one of my favorite covers, and I’m having a blast with the book thus far.
“But I want it!”
Please note that when I do sales at vendors, the Patreon shop will not be discounted; it’s a permanent shop meant to be as hands off as possible, so if you want to take advantage of the $0.99 sales, you’ll need to do so through the vendors hosting the sales.
Here is a list of the sales dates in case you have forgotten:
- Playing with Fire: September 25 to October 1, 2023: $0.99. ($6.99 after sale.)
- Hoofin’ It: October 2 to October 8, 2023: $0.99. ($7.99 after sale.)
- Hearth, Home, and Havoc: October 9 to October 15, 2023: $0.99. ($3.99 after sale.)
- Serial Killer Princess: October 16 to October 22, 2023: $0.99. ($5.99 after sale.)
- Whatever for Hire: October 23 to October 29, 2023: $0.99. ($6.99 after sale.)
- Owl Be Yours: October 30 to November 5, 2023: $0.99. ($4.99 after sale.)
- Last but not Leashed: November 6 to 12, 2023: $0.99. ($4.99 after sale.)
- No Kitten Around: November 13 to November 19, 2023: $0.99 ($6.99 after sale.)
- Blending In: November 27 to December 3, 2023: $0.99. ($6.99 after sale.)
- Cheetahs Never Win: December 4 to December 10, 2023: $0.99. ($6.99 after sale.)
- Burn, Baby, Burn: December 11 to December 18, 2023: $0.99. ($6.99 after sale.)
The sale will be valid at all major retailers, including Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Kobo, and Apple books. As a reminder, $6.99 books range between 80,000 to 120,000 words in length. $7.99 are books over 120,000 words in length. Everything below $6.99 is shorter than 80,000 in length. (Excluding back matter, bonus stories, etc.)
For those curious, the cats are very happy we are home, but they’re a little concerned that the Blain Household humans are falling like flies to various illnesses. (None of which appear to be COVID, as that test was negative.)
Wish us luck, we are going to need it.
Speaking of which… I am not packing kickstarter boxes or handling books while ill. You do not want me sneezing or dripping on the books anymore than I want to be sneezing and dripping on the books. Once everyone is better, I will resume packing and shipping.
I think that’s all. Have a great day, folks!
Happy Reading.
Have a picture of a happy cat.

Just need to know – when will you be scrubbing the per-novel page?
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Today, because everything has been up sufficiently long enough.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
For CLOSING it (scrubbing being making sure all the old books are removed), that’ll be after Grave Affairs.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Hah, apparently, I’d already scrubbed out the old novel files. Go me!
But Grave Affairs will be the last per novel book.

the free option with a buy direct from you via patreon option is great thank you. kobo+ in canada doesn’t have enough books i want to justify itself and the monthly patreon is just too expensive for me.

I tried clicking on the “Join for free” link, both in the email and at Patreon, and neither worked as a linkm to anything.

The pictures in the email are not actual links. They’re screenshots showing what you need to click. Should you click on “Join for free” from patreon, you should get a popup that says “You’re in!” and that’s it. It will then refresh the page and look the same, except you won’t see a “join for free” button anymore.

I am a bit confused about my membership. It says I have a cindercorn membership, but am only being charged 5.99, which I can afford, being a retired senior. But when I look at your membership breakdown, it says cindercorns cost 25 a month. And when I looked for the Murder Floof read along, I don’t have access to that. I’m not trying to get anything I’m not paying for, I’m just wondering. And this email says I can get the prerelease books if I sign up now for free, but is that just for the 25/mo cindercorns? So confused.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
The $5.99 cindercorn tier is on the per novel patreon. You need to be a cindercorn of the other patreon. (If you look closely, they have different icons.) And no, you can get notifications of the books for the free to join, which you can then buy in the shop at regular retail price.
Donna J
So I am currently a cindercorn. Do I wait until the next book to switch or do it now?
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
That’s entirely up to you! The Per Novel will be around until Grave Affairs releases, after which it’ll be retired. You can be a free subscriber of the one without canceling the other if you prefer the per novel until then.
