What was that? Janette and the Vigilante Magical Librarians are back? As a matter of fact… yes, they are!
A year after the assassination of Senator Maybelle, President Castillo makes a declaration that shakes the United States of America to its core: the presidential election is to be postponed for a period of three years to investigate the deaths of prominent senators and representatives across the nation.
In the wake of the speech, Janette is invited to meet with Senator Thaddens regarding a donation for the New York Public Library. Aware the senator may be one of the last men fighting for freedom in a corrupt system, she agrees to meet with him in his Michigan home.
What she learns could breathe life back into American democracy. But can Janette and her ragtag group of friends outsmart a government determined to herald in an age of warfare and stratocracy?
You can preorder now at Amazon. Other vendors are coming soon! (Apple will not process until tomorrow at the earliest, but the other vendors are working on getting their preorders live.)
Otters, Sirens, Cindercorns, and Spicy Ponies with Bite over at the Monthly Patreon will receive a copy of this book as part of their subscription. (As a reminder, I track retail and Patreon performance separately; at current, retail performance of the Vigilante Magical Librarians series is what determines when a new book in the series releases.)
Stone Bound (Jesse Alexander #3) will have a 2025 release as well. I just haven’t hammered out the core plot structure, nor am I ready to start actually writing it, unlike Booked for Theft, which I did the core plot work on this week… and am ready to begin writing!
Cindercorns and Spicy Ponies with Bite can expect to see rough draft material of Booked for Theft sometime soon…

This series is what led me to your books. I’m extremely excited for this new book!!!!
Kevin McIntire
Yeah! On both.
Not on this subject but are you doing a timeline on the Royal States. Some of the timing in the different novels are a little confusing.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
No, I am not. For the most part, the series is in chronological order. Vampire happens after Runaway. The Trickster King takes place between Taken and Null and Void.
Kevin McIntire
My question is more on the times involved between the different books. I can’t fit the number of years that the series covers.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Deidre’s age is in Null and Void, and then you can follow the time span generally based on Mackenzie and Will’s children. (As you know when Deidre is conceived in Taken.) Just track the Royal children in Montana and Texas, and you’ll be able to do the math on the number of years.
