I will not be doing the mass market for the Lilith Daniels books. The price is too high for realistic purchase. Instead, I will be doing a trade hardback edition and standard trade edition.
However much I love mass market, I simply can’t justify the price for admission. The hardback costs more than the mass market, but you’re getting a better product for it, so that’s the route I will be taking. (Alas, it will probably mean I won’t have many print copies available in libraries, but that’s just life.)
And no…I will not be doing a print run where I sell books individually. I don’t move enough print copies to justify it, alas.
All new series, moving forward, will be hardback and trade, both of the same trim size. Old series that had mass market will continue to have mass market so those who like that trim size can complete their series in that trim size.
Sorry for the not-great news on that front, but there’s just zero way I will earn back the production fees on mass markets, and if I’m going to blow money on print editions, I will do so through making pretty and fancy hardbacks people can collect if they want.
Trade is the more popular trim size.
Sorry. I just can’t justify the additional rates for the mass market, and this is the best compromise I can think of at this stage.

Thanks for letting us know.
It’s a business — you gotta make business decisions.

I actually like trade better, especially since I’m more selective in my paper purchases these days. But I do understand people with different preferences. On your end though, it’s a business decision. People will just have to deal with it. I do appreciate you not changing for your current series though. That’s a luxury we don’t always get from the big publishers.

Ok. I’m not really picky as long as the font is a decent size (my eyes are having issues). I enjoy your books and find myself re-reading them frequently.
Lynne
Yes. This. I’m fine with trade and really appreciate that you are continuing to offer print at all. As a matter of fact, I just ordered Life-Debt and Silent Stalker because I saw they were available! My copies of Doggone Mess and Dead Weight arrived late last week and I’m gloating over them before I dive in 😉

Will I be able to buy on Amazo Kindle? I don’t really understand the purchase comment. Love your work.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Kindle is a completely different format than print. Print is paper books you hold in your hand. Kindle uses ebook format and is completely different from what this post discusses. Unless you’re buying physical books, this doesn’t apply to you.

Thank you. I can no longer read paper, my eyes are too funky these days. I have to have really large print. I do LOVE your audio editions, just saying. I own all of the Rontic Comedy series, and all but a few of the Royals.
Thanks for sharing your writings, your heart, and your life with us!

I just need to know where to get the hardback trades.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
They will be available at B&N, and might show up at Amazon but Amazon tries to curtail Ingram stuff nowadays.

Do whatever you need to; no one should get upset with that.

Cold hard finance facts. Will they have the gorgeous covers you showed for the paperbacks so long ago?
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
The covers on the hardback and paperback editions will be the same.

Works for me. I understand.
Jenn
I buy trade size anyway, because it’s easier for me to read. I will keep an eye out on B&N for copies. Many thanks!
