Greetings,
There seems to be some confusion. A Light in the Dark is the book that released this morning at $6.99, and is about to be marked up to $7.99. Partner in Crime was always $7.99, and will remain at $7.99.
The problem with Kobo’s launch will not influence how much you are paying for the book.
Thank you for your understanding.
~R.J.
P.S.: Both titles are now available at the Patreon store for $7.99 for those who are interested.

I had preordered both books from Amazon. Do you get more of the money if readers buy the books from the Patreon store?
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Yes. I get ~88-90% of the money off Patreon compared to approximately 65% on Amazon.

Almost finished Partner in Crime, it’s great! I couldn’t put it down! Thank you
Susan Owen.
Dear RJ, KOBO customer service, reached by phone, were unaware of any issues with the book until they tried to access it. I now have a refund. So very sorry for your angst over this. I will source it and enjoy it from another seller.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
Kobo customer service will be unaware; that’s not the people I went to for assistance. (I jumped the chain straight to upper technical support / corporate.) They’ll fix it eventually, but I’ve done everything on my end already.

I came here to see if there was a problem with Kobo and Partner in Crime. Since there is, I will contact them about how to get it fixed.
The Sneaky Kitty Critic
I have already reached out to Kobo pushing for refunds for all purchasers of the book or a fixed title, but it could be up to two weeks. I’ve delisted the book (but they haven’t even processed THAT yet), and a new version (with an actual book attached) should go online… soonish. If their system ever processes it. 🙁
