Just a General Update

Going to be short and sweet with this; the complex painted my front door today, and I’m living in allergy and asthma hell. (Hooray.)

1: No, I don’t have a date for when the next Magic, Mayhem, and the Law book will be.

2: Yes, the Secret Society of Red Pandas is the title of the next Audrey Greene book. (This may be subject to change if I happen to write two of them side by side and the other is finished first.)

3: I just received fancy stickers in the mail for those of you who mailed in with the Dead Weight Kobo issues. I will be working on addressing envelopes/sending stuff end of this week/next week.

4: I am gradually working on organizing the next batch of kickstarter book packages. Please message me on kickstarter if you need to change your mailing address. I will be posting a reminder of this on kickstarter next week as I start the packing process.

5: 1 person correctly identified the typo in the print edition and sent in the correct info, so that will be addressed next week as well. (Hooray! Well done, person who correctly identified the typo!)

6: In January, I will be looking at starting a special edition hardback (foiled edges, etc) edition of the Magical Romantic Comedy series. The printer will be located in the UK, so be prepared for shipping fees. (This is one of the few print on demand places that will do foiled edges, etc, that doesn’t require an actual print run. As such, my hands are tied regarding that.) I don’t know how long this process will take, but it will be fun. *IF* possible, the foiled edges will be designed to create a picture when the entire set of books are lined up in a row. Depending on how the foiled edges / printed edges go, this project may not be finalized until the very end of the series, but it’s something that’s in the works.

Note: as this is a labor of love and will likely not earn back its expenses, I’m not going to be doing anything like a kickstarter for it. Please don’t ask. When it gets done, it gets done.

7: Yes, I will be doing fancy hardback editions of my particular favorite books. This is a 2025-2026 project, and it’s a labor of love because print editions do not earn me profit.

As a reminder: ALL print editions are done as time, money, and energy allow. I know some of you are heavily invested in print editions, but the reality is, most of my print books sell fewer than a hundred a copies in their lifespan, so it is something I do as I have time and energy.

8: paint has turned my brain to mush, and my head is foggy, and my asthma is cranky. I cannot brain today, no braining.

9: Next book release is Experimental Voyage, and it has undergone extensive changes from the version in Pets in Space. The ending, for example…. completely rewritten/changed.

There is an entirely new species introduced to the world, and you will find out more about Waldren’s failed colony.

And no, Waldren’s failed colony is NOT the same failed colony world as the Failed Colony story in the current Pets in Space. (Reminder: the latest Pets in Space is leaving stores soonish.)

10: The Failed Colony in Pets in Space is only the first half of the book, and while it’s basically a story in and of itself, the story will be continuing in the standalone version, which will be substantially longer. View it the same way as Doggone Mess when it was in Dirty Deeds; the one that released separately is HUGELY expanded. The same will apply for Failed Colony.

Unlike Experimental Voyage, Failed Colony will mostly remain intact in the new version. (AKA, the ending that is in Failed Colony will be the same ending as in the extended version, you will just get to see what happens next.)

11: A Guiding Light has been recorded and it went to the audiobook proofer today. Expect a month before it heads to Patreon for the Patreon release. While this is a re-release of an old book, as there is no other version available, it will be available to cindercorns and spicy ponies with bite on Patreon at the same time it is released to the store.

There will be approximately a 2-4 week stint in the Patreon store exclusively before A Guiding Light is submitted to all other audiobook vendors. (Why 2-4 weeks? I am paid ~$10 per audiobook when they’re purchased through the Patreon store… where I’m paid $1-3 at retail vendors. This helps me significantly earn back expenses from the production of the audiobook. As such, retail will be waiting for that 2-4 week period so I have a better chance of the audiobook actually earning profit sometime this year instead of in 2-3 years.)

(No, I’m not exaggerating. I do audiobooks as a labor of love, and it takes them a VERY long time to earn back for me on retail.)

This is an excellent balance in terms of earning back what it cost to produce and getting the books made available to vendors.

(All complaints regarding this business decision will be ignored.)
